May Your Words Last As Long As Our Barn

The perfect place to create -- a unique farmhouse that has been in the Skagit Valley since the dawn of the 20th century. A hundred year old barn to inspire you, acres of bucolic green fields to help clear away your writer's block and give you the mental space you need.

Spend a weekend at The Writers' House at Century Farm with Jennifer Basye Sander, NYT bestselling author, former Random House editor, and co-author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Getting Published. The Publishing School for Writers
Book Brainstorming Session

Okay, you think you have an idea for a book… but you aren’t sure it will sell. You have started a book project… but you aren’t sure it is headed in the right direction. Writing a book sounds sort of cool… but you don’t know where to start. Any of these sound familiar? Not to worry, Jennifer is here to help.

Join former Random House senior editor and New York Times bestselling author for a lively afternoon of brainstorming books. You’ll learn how professional publishing folk come up with ideas for popular books, how editors sometimes reshape books in order to make them more marketable, and how anyone (yes, anyone) can come up with an idea that works.

Sunday, August 14th, from 3-6pm, Jennifer will lead participants through a three hour workshop at The Writers’ House at Century Farm in Mt. Vernon to brainstorm topics and titles for your projects, help you think of new ways to get your work in front of readers (eBook? App?), and fire you up to finish what you have started.

A $42 class fee includes unlimited strong coffee and homemade bread and jam to keep your mind working. Class held at 17322 Beaver Marsh Road (between Mt. Vernon and La Conner). For more information, check out www.writeatthefarm.com or call Jennifer at 916-847-9090. Space limited, only ten participants per workshop.
